Green Tomorrows Orientation and Public Speakers
This Saturday, April 21st, Green Tomorrows, Common Good's flagship program, opens with its orientation for participants. After a busy winter of outreach with visits everywhere from Central Union Mission to George Mason University, the record-breaking enrollment means we'll have a lot more urban farmers at the end of this year! After the orientation for participants, guest speakers Max Finberg, Director, USDA Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and Acacia Salatti, Deputy Director, HHS Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships will discuss the benefits of improving food access in DC communities. The Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships is an initiative of the White House. All are welcome to listen to the speakers at 12:30pm! RSVP online And if you are a veteran of the Iraq or Afghanistan wars, both active duty or retired, please come to get your Welcome Home Garden kit, donated by W Atlee Burpee, so you can plant your own flower and vegetable garden!
