Planting the seeds for a successful 2013
*/
Dear friends and supporters,
As 2012 draws to a close, we'd like to share with you a few of this year's highlights, and we hope you'll consider making a final, end of the year donation. We're starting to order seeds for spring planting, and we're excited to get growing in 2013, but we need your help to continue expanding our reach in the DC community.

P.S. If you've already made a gift, please accept our thanks! Your additional gift provides continued support for our farm and programs. Please consider sharing this message with your friends.
A taste of this year's successes:
-We launched our first summer youth program, allowing us to employ 16 area teens, who learned the challenges and joys of urban farming, and who pushed themselves to grow through the many workshops in which they participated. We're hoping summer 2013 will be as great a success, though we wouldn't mind if it was a bit cooler!
-We grew over 6,300 pounds of food! And the majority of these farm-fresh fruit and veggies were invested right back into the community: to low-income DC residents enrolled in our Green Tomorrows program, to the many youth in our afterschool program, and to food pantries like Martha's Table and DC Central Kitchen.
-We provided valuable training and job skills to the 45 active participants in Green Tomorrows, and we look forward to supporting even more community members next spring.
-We celebrated our fifth-anniversary in grand style with our inaugural Taste of Common Good, welcoming program participants, volunteers and supporters onto the farm. We hope you'll join us for next year's event!
Thanks again for your support!
Your donation means a lot to us. It allows us to grow our produce and our programs, and to continue building our community. Please stay tuned for further updates and news, and come visit the farm this spring!
