Burdock, Bees, and Butternut: Join us in welcoming our new farm team!

Dear Friend,

We are so excited to welcome two new staff members to our team! Please join us in welcoming Marc James, Farm Programs Manager, and Foster Gettys, Farm Production Manager. You can meet both of our new staff members at our Pop-up Farm Market on Sunday, February 7 from 12-3 pm. We have also opened up registration for our CSA program and our Home Apothecary Program, so be sure to check that out!

Shop at our Pop-up Farm Market on Sun, Feb 7

We will be hosting a Pop-up Farm Market on Sunday, February 7, from 12-3 pm outside Common Good City Farm, facing the Park at LeDroit, 300 V St NW.

We strongly encourage pre-orders for this market by Sunday, January 31, which will allow you to reserve the items you want and have them ready for quick pick up the day of the market. It also helps us determine how much produce to order. We will be sourcing our produce from Franklin Sustainable Farms and Dreaming Out Loud. If you visited our farm market this past year, Franklin Sustainable Farms is where we sourced many of our produce items for sale and giveaway. Market produce will include delicious apples, collards, kale, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and more!

We are piloting a pay-what-you-can model at this Farm Market. When we ring you up at the market, we will provide a suggested retail price. However, if you are unable to pay that amount or have additional resources and would like to support our food access efforts, you can pay more, less, or the suggested amount (This is a self assessment of your ability to pay- no questions asked and no explanation necessary). We are hoping that by offering this pricing flexibility, this will allow the greatest number of people to access the produce needed. This option is available with pre-orders as well. This past year has demonstrated the great need for fresh produce and we are testing this method so that we can continue to provide fresh produce to community members.

Our LEAF Youth program will also be offering a meal kit including ingredients and instructions for a simple recipe to help kids get cooking at home! These will be available at the market for free to families and you can sign up on this quick form.
