Faces of the Farm ~ Meet Nevaeh!
At 9 years old, Nevaeh is one of our youngest faces on the farm! Nevaeh, who lives across the street from the farm, visits multiple times each week to participate in our LEAF after-school program. “I like all the people here, and the food is good!” she says. During LEAF, Nevaeh has learned about planting, environmental science, harvesting, and whole foods cooking — getting hands on experience along the way! “I like to come because it’s fun,” Nevaeh says of her time on the farm, “and the garden is beautiful.” Her favorite task is weeding and getting her hands dirty. She also enjoys the snacks we have at LEAF, including a green smoothie, fresh cherries, and even salad — “but only a little bit.” Nevaeh is also appreciative to have a farm nearby. “It’s a special place for people to visit, since most people don’t get to visit farms.” We love to have you, Nevaeh! -- One of the most compelling elements of Common Good is the sense of community that is being fostered on the farm. At any given time one can see faces, young and old, from different backgrounds, gathered on the farm to lend a hand, attend a workshop, and engage in a lively conversation. We want to share some of these faces with you. Each week we will take a moment to learn a little bit more about our community members. We hope you will visit us and become one of our Faces of the Farm. Every Friday we will feature a new "face of the farm."
