Faces of the Farm ~ Meet Adam!

Meet Adam! Have you noticed a recent burst of color from newly planted flowers at Common Good City Farm? Likely, those flowers were planted by our volunteer Adam. Adam, who moved from Michigan to DC ten months ago, is affectionately known as our “flower guy” and has taken it as his personal mission to plant and grow flowers all around the farm. “I’m trying to make flowers look cool,” Adam says. And he certainly does make flowers look cool! His extensive knowledge of all types of plants and flowers (useful in his other jobs at Johnson’s Garden Center and Halo Green Garden) has been a great source of information for all our friends and volunteers. Adam first came to Common Good City Farm after researching garden volunteer opportunities on the internet. He stays because he appreciates the support from the staff to cultivate his interests on the Common Good City Farm space, as well as how the farm “takes care of its community and is a community place over all, and has a top notch kids-program for the community.” Thank you Adam, for all you do! --One of the most compelling elements of Common Good is the sense of community that is being fostered on the farm. At any given time one can see faces, young and old, from different backgrounds, gathered on the farm to lend a hand, attend a workshop, and engage in a lively conversation. We want to share some of these faces with you. Each week we will take a moment to learn a little bit more about our community members. We hope you will visit us and become one of our Faces of the Farm. Every Friday we will feature a new "face of the farm."
