Common Good City Farm Visits DC Elementary Schools

This November, CGCF Youth Coordinator Elizabeth visited 6 area elementary schools to engage students in an interactive lesson about the parts of a plant. Students learned that there are 6 parts of a plant, and we can eat them all!This lesson is the first of a series of three that will take place in schools this winter. The lessons will introduce students to plant parts, insects on the farm, and composting. These lessons will be followed by a spring field trip to Common Good where students will be able to put their knowledge to practical use by participating in hands-on farm activities.
