Recipe of the Week: Kale Chips

As the weather gets colder, the harvest season of our farm is winding down. But we still have kale! Kale is a low-calorie, nutrient-rich food, and can provide cholesterol lowering and cancer protection benefits. One serving of kale has more than your daily value of vitamins A, C, and K. One easy and delicious way to add kale to your diet is by making kale chips! Check out the recipe below: Kale Chips Ingredients 1 bunch of kale (any type) Olive oil Salt Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Rinse kale and tear into small pieces, avoiding the tough stalk. 3. Toss kale with enough olive oil to lightly coat the leaves. 4. Place kale flat on a baking sheet, sprinkle with salt, and cook for 10-15 minutes (until kale is crisp) in the oven. Over the summer we will post recipes featuring fresh ingredients that we are growing on Common Good City Farm. Check back weekly to see what we are harvesting!
