Produce Plus Direct

For Customers Receiving Produce Delivery

 We’re looking forward to providing you with fresh, no-cost produce through the summer, and wanted to provide you with some important information about how you can pick up your produce during the season. 

Beginning Wednesday, July 15, you will begin receiving produce deliveries from us. We have partnered with Rich Capital Concepts/ VeggieCity to deliver the produce boxes to you. These produce boxes will continue each week through the end of September.

Your produce box will be sourced from Franklin Sustainable Farms and will consist of approximately 6 different items per week along with 1 additional item from Common Good City Farm. If you have any questions regarding the produce, feel free to reach out at any time with questions.

○      Delivery Time Frame: Wednesdays 2:30 - 6:30 pm

 As a reminder, if you need to have someone else accept a delivery of produce for Produce Plus Direct, you will need to ask that person to just give YOUR name. We will not be collecting a list of proxy names this season. 

 

For Customers Picking Up at Common Good City Farm

Produce Plus Direct Produce Pick-up Details:

  • Pickup Location: Common Good City Farm, 300 V St NW, Washington, DC 20001, Facing the Park at LeDroit

  • Pickup Times: Wednesdays 3:30 - 6 pm

3:30 to 4 pm: Open to Produce Plus Direct, Senior and WIC FMNP Customers only. 

4 to 6 pm: You can continue to pick up your produce box, but other people may be present to pick up produce.

Beginning this Wednesday, July 15 from 3:30 to 6 pm, you will receive produce from us at Common Good City Farm, 300 V St NW, Washington, DC 20001. Please wait in line along the fence facing the Park at LeDroit next to V St NW and exit by heading towards Elm St NW. Please wait 6’ apart from others as marked by a chair.
You will pick up a box of produce every Wednesday afternoon from this Wednesday, July 15 until Wednesday, September 30. Your produce box will be sourced from Franklin Sustainable Farms and will consist of approximately 6 different items per week. If you have any questions regarding the produce, feel free to reach out at any time with questions.


  • How to Get There:

    • Shaw/ Howard metro on the green/ yellow line is the closest metro station. 

    • Routes 70, 90, G8 have stops closest to the Farm. Please check WMATA for updated bus schedules and changes due to COVID-19: https://www.wmata.com/service/bus/ 

    • Note: G2 is temporarily suspended. 

    • Taxi Option to Common Good City Farm

      DC's Department For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) has expanded the existing Taxi-to-Rail (T2R) program to provide rides citywide to and from essential businesses, such as grocery stores, medical facilities, and pharmacies. The first $20 of the meter fare is free for the customer and per-person caps on the number of trips have been eliminated. To request a ride call (202) 727-3827 or book online at taxi2rail.com. Please request your ride about half an hour in advance and see the flyer attached for more information.

Produce Plus Customer Guidelines:

  • If you need to send someone else to pick up your produce for Produce Plus Direct, you will need to ask that person to just give YOUR name. We will NOT be collecting a list of proxy names this season. 

  • If you need to miss a pickup week, PLEASE contact us 2 days ahead of time (by Monday at 9 am) at info@commongoodcityfarm.org so we will know to adjust our amount of produce. 

  • Please note that Produce Plus Direct has a long waitlist. As a reminder, if you do not visit the market to pick up your produce box two weeks in a row, DC Greens staff will contact you and your spot may go to someone on the waitlist. 

  • Please let us know if anything comes up when trying to pick up your produce. You can also refer to https://www.commongoodcityfarm.org/produce-plus-direct at any time for this information or updates.

Farmers Market Safety Protocols:

Help keep the farmers' markets a safe place to access healthy food. We encourage all Produce Plus Direct customers to:  

●      Leave pets at home. 

●      Leave children, seniors, and other vulnerable family members at home.  

●      Only send one family member from each household to the market.  

●      Keep proper distance from food displays and surfaces and follow physical distancing requirements. Stay 6’ away from other people at all times. 

●      Please wear a mask before entering the market. We will ask you to leave if you don’t wear a mask. If you need one, please let us know.

●      Stay home if you feel ill, have symptoms, or have been exposed to the virus. 

●    Wait until the staff/ volunteer steps away from the table to step up to the table.
