Maypop, Markets and Mother's Day: Join us for our Wednesday Farm Market & Find Cute Gift Ideas for Your Mom
Updates from the Farm
Dear Friends,
A big THANK YOU to everyone who liked our posts on Instagram, participated in our Earth Day Trivia, and/ or donated to our Earth Day campaign! With your help, we were able to win a total of $650 from the Catalogue of Philanthropy and Game Genius as well as raise an additional $700 from our Earth Day campaign! This money will go to help support our pay-what-you-can model at our Farm Market to ensure that people can continue to access fresh produce as well as support our City Farmer Certificate program to train people in regenerative farming techniques. If you haven't had a chance to support our work, you can still donate here.
If you have not purchased a CSA membership with us yet, it's not too late! Buy a CSA membership today and pick up produce from June to October at our Wednesday Farm Market.
Thank you to the DC government for recognizing our contributions to advancing sustainability in the District and awarding us with the District Sustainability Award!

We will feature an activity that you can do each day at home, out and about, and as a local trip! Tag us in your adventures and we will raffle off Common Good tote bags & other prizes to participants!

Love all of the beautiful flowers in the spring! Here are the pear blossoms...
and cherry blossoms!
We created this chamber to keep our seedlings warm overnight. We are able to fit about 3 trays per rack with 11 racks total and each tray held about 50 seedlings for about 1,815 seedlings total!
Here is a deep purple bunching onion coming along.
Farm Production Manager Foster and Farm Programs Manager Marc are hand pollinating the pawpaw trees using a paintbrush and cup to collect pollen from one tree and place on the other tree.
Our City Farmer volunteers are working with the Farm Managers to transplant seedlings and prepare a bed for planting.
