Common Good City Farm is holding our second annual fundraising event on Thursday, October 3rd, from 6:30-8:30 pm. Join us for A Night on the Farm -- a magical evening featuring fresh, local tastings prepared by DC chefs, mini-workshops on urban farming, live music, and more, all in the setting of DC's largest urban farm. Common Good is excited to be part of the National Portrait Gallery's second annual Farm to Table Day. Come by between 11:30 am - 3:00 pm to learn about the local food scene in DC and enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family! Event details here

Sunday, February 17
We will be hosting a fruit tree pruning workshop on the farm. Josh Singer, urban forester at Casey Trees and a certified arborist, will be on hand to answer questions, speak about the importance of fruit tree maintenance and walk us all through spring pruning techniques. Our orchard hosts a variety of fruit trees that range from 4 years old to ones that are newly planted. Among them are are peach trees, beech plums, pawpaws, apples, asian pears and fig trees. Rooting DC is a free, all day event of workshops and demonstrations about urban gardening, environmental education and more! Our farm manager Anita will be hosting a workshop on compost, and there's lots of other great things happening. Check out the schedule on Rooting DC's website here

Healthy Affordable Food for All (HAFA) invites you to DC Food Future: Planting the Seeds of Justice. The event will bring together inner-city voices and other experts across the food system to speak as one. HAFA will share images, stories, and ideas gathered from 15 community brainstorms with over 350 participants from the DMV. Then we’ll spend the day learning, networking, and investing in our local economy. Together, we will collaborate on a vision and a map for a just food system.
Breakfast and registration start at 9:30am. Past Community Brainstorm attendees are invited to join HAFA for an all-out appreciation lunch from 12-1pm.

Sidetour will be hosting a unique experience at Common Good City Farm on November 17th! You will have the opportunity to learn about urban growing with a tour of the farm and a light meal made from the farm’s produce.
With our urban grower, Anita Adalja, you will explore the urban property and learn the basics of winterization, how the farm prepares for different seasons, and composting. And you discuss the pros and cons of farming in the city versus the country.

Food Day, created by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), is a national day set aside to create awareness about the need to create a sustainable and just food system. Organizations around the United States are hosting educational events and seminars to "strengthen and unify the food movement in order to improve our nation’s food policies."

Sunday, October 21st , LeDroit's annual Octoberfest celebration will take place from 11am to 5pm at the Park. There will be live music by Bad Mooka, Traitors and Thieves & In Your Memory in addition to food and fun for the entire family.
